WHERE ARE WE GOING?

November - Carcassonne and Germany

MZR1man

Travelling down to Carcassonne early November for a recce and shoot on the Languedoc region for the Library then up to Germany for a shoot on zinc.

France looks very enticing, just hope the light is good - as it often is in this area.

Further shoots from Tarifa to Almeria, wind turbines, solar power, travel images. Look at the picture we make in the mountains, all I need to make it perfect is to point at something and look picturesque

Spain

Catching up on travel imagery in the Alpujarras, Tarifa wind turbines and out east in Almeria

It's all go in the mountains. This old chap (that's the one on the left, in case you wonder) was endearingly friendly - nearly fell off his horse waving a greeting then showing us his cows in the high mountain valley. "Of course, your cows are mad in England, aren't they?"

This is my 'blend in with the natives' outfit.

Norway - BERGEN - Sognefjord DELAYED start

Hoyanger1Bergen and Hoyanger, Norway. Shooting Hydro Aluminium Fundo. Any client needing work here would need to let us do Saturday unless it's a longer shoot. The plane to Bergen only goes out on a Thursday, at least, we cheapskates only go on this one!

DUBAI & S AFRICA, Durban

Back from the heat of the Middle East - just missed the terrorist scare by a few hours. This would have caused us serious problems because we carry lots of gear in hand luggage on the basis that we will always have enough to complete the contract if our hold equipment is lost/stolen/damaged. Went on from August heat in Dubai and Bahrain to the lovely Indian Ocean in African winter just north of Durban in Richards Bay. BBCAfrica

This is us looking manly by a ship - just the sort of shot my mother would be proud of, Richard on the left and me on the right. What a difference the sea makes to our comfort and energy levels compared with sweating into the gear in 45C and 70% humidity in the Gulf. However, it feels much safer in a Muslim Arab country, this part of Africa is relatively free of drive-by shootings and muggings but you need to keep an eye out at traffic lights. Next we were in Pietermaritzburg shooting a Huletts aluminium foundry. They kindly dressed us up and kitted us out in very fetching pink safety helmets, and we were lucky enough to get another flattering shot of us RichChrisBBCAfrica like the Belgian foundry shot on our Contacts page.
